Hi my name is Kevin Scruggs and I am the Pastor of Adult Ministries. I have been married to my wife Monica since January 1993. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Madison. I grew up on the East Coast and after college moved to California in December of ‘91.

What I love about my ministry here is the diversity of responsibility and the people of FBC. There are so many places to get involved here! We have a great time in adult ministries and I get to work with some amazing people. Elk Grove is a wonderful place to live. I especially enjoy all of the parks for families and great places to eat.

One of my favorite verses is found in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” The hope that God gives us continues to sustain me.

When I have some spare time, I love to spend it with my family. Being a husband and a dad is top on my list! I really enjoy watching movies. Some of my favorite movies are Lethal Weapon (the first one), The Princess Bride and The Transporter (also the first one). Food is a pretty big deal to me, especially dessert, which is probably why I enjoy running so much! If you like sushi, try the Incredible Roll at Makuni’s, seriously. I also enjoy reading and some books that have really impacted me are Spiritual Leadership by Blackaby and Who You Are When No One’s Looking by Hybels.
