Adult Ministries Staff

Hi my name is Kevin Scruggs and I am the Pastor of FBC Community. I have been married to my wife Monica since January 1993. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Madison. I grew up on the East Coast and after college moved to California in December of ‘91.

What I love about my ministry here is the diversity of responsibility and the people of FBC. There are so many places to get involved here! We have a great time in adult ministries and I get to work with some amazing people. Elk Grove is a wonderful place to live. I especially enjoy all of the parks for families and great places to eat.

One of my favorite verses is found in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” The hope that God gives us continues to sustain me.

When I have some spare time, I love to spend it with my family. Being a husband and a dad is top on my list! I really enjoy watching movies. Some of my favorite movies are Lethal Weapon (the first one), The Princess Bride and The Transporter (also the first one). Food is a pretty big deal to me, especially dessert, which is probably why I enjoy running so much! If you like sushi, try the Incredible Roll at Mikuni’s, seriously. I also enjoy reading and some books that have really impacted me are Spiritual Leadership by Blackaby and Who You Are When No One’s Looking by Hybels.

So there you have it, a little insight into who I am. Feel free to drop me a note and say hi or look for me in church on the weekends, I would love to meet you. You may also follow me on Twitter.

My name is Robert (Bob) Speizer, Pastor to College and Young Adults. I direct all Young Adult Ministry activities at FBC (including new high school graduates and college-age youth). I have been on staff here since 1991.

I’ve been happily married to Nancy for 29 years. We have two grown up children. Aubree, age 24 and a Special Education teacher for junior high, and Joel, age 26 and is preparing to go into full time mission work. We have three cats: Tubby, Sweetface, and Thelma Lou. I could pick 20 favorite movies, but under duress here goes: 12 Angry Men, The Great Escape, and You Can’t Take it With You!; best worst movie of all time is: The Terrors of Tiny Town. It’s definitely not politically correct.

I love the people of FBC. If I could give a member a piece of advice, I would say, “Please get involved!” Find your area of service and use your spiritual gifts to bless the Body!
