Worship & Arts Ministry Staff
|
With 26 years of full-time experience in the Worship and Arts Ministry, Dr. Bill Maxon affirms that his greatest desire is to glorify God and to serve Him as an instrument used to infuse others with the life that he has received in Christ. He holds a Bachelors of Music degree from Southwest Baptist University (Bolivar, MO), a Masters of Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, |
KY) and Doctorate of Worship Studies from the Robert Webber Institute of Worship Studies (Jacksonville, FL). |
Presently, Bill serves to shepherd the overall FBC Worship and Arts Ministry, including conducting the FBC Choir and Orchestra, leading worship in our Traditions Service on Sunday mornings, and directing several annual major musical/drama worship events. He often enlists over 200 volunteers to participate in these outreach-oriented productions in an effort to use the arts in spreading the gospel not only to the attendees, but also to those involved in the event. Bill’s pastoral heart regularly brings people together allowing them to use their gifts in ministry as they experience community.
Married for 23 years, he deeply values his wife Dawn, a high school English teacher in Elk Grove, and in addition, he has two adult sons, Devin and Chad. Bill has served in churches small and large in several different states. In addition to the arts, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, especially on their boat docked on the beautiful California Delta. |

During their travels, the Carnies were blessed to share the stage with such artists as 4Him, Annointed, Cindy Morgan, and the Winnans, just to name a few. Jeff’s passion for the word of God is evident in both his personal and professional life. |

In 1998-2006, Jeff Carnie served as the Director of Music and Worship at the Church of the Valley in San Ramon, California. Sandra Stillwell serves as the administrative assistant to the department. With an extensive background in music as well as administration, she is your contact for most everything we do within the Worship and Arts department. When she's not supplying music to the many musicians in service or organizing everything in sight, Sandra can often be found assisting Bill Maxon in conducting the choir, a task she greatly enjoys. Sandra teaches music on a part-time basis, sings with the Sanctuary Choir and lives in Sacramento with her husband, Greg, their two boys, Brandon and Zachary and Rory, their very large cat. |
