First Baptist Church of Elk Grove was founded in 1922 and incorporated in 1953 as a nonprofit organization in the State of California. Throughout the history of our church being good and faithful stewards of all donations entrusted to us has been a primary goal.
Our Constitution, Elder Manuals and Committee manuals detail some of the policies and procedures we follow in regard to our finances. Financial reports are presented to the congregation during the Annual Business meeting; the Elder Board reviews the church’s overall financial health quarterly; the Finance Committee reviews the church’s Financial Statements monthly; and the Chief Financial Officer/Business Administrator manages the finances and accounting on a daily basis. In addition, we have an annual “Audit Review” conducted by the accounting firm of Thompson & Noble. We strive to follow the best accounting and reporting practices of non-profit industry.
Because we are a non-profit organization, we are careful to follow those laws and guidelines which pertain to us as a corporation within the United States. Although we are ultimately accountable to God and must always make sure that we put no other law above His law, our leadership has not found any reason to conscientiously break any law or guideline imposed by our government.
