I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty
and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger
and you received me in your homes.
(Matt 25:35 GNB)
How time flies! It’s hard to believe that on October 6 at 6pm in the Auditorium, we will be celebrating our 5th annual “Concert for Cans" event. The Loving Hands Ministry has become a significant ministry at FBC by serving many families in need throughout the year, with a specific focus on meeting the needs of families in our community around the holidays. Loving Hands continues to collaborate with Kirchgater School each year in assisting families that are referred to us by their teachers. This ministry creates yet another opportunity for our church to bear witness to the faithfulness of Jesus. We are planting seeds in lives that the Holy Spirit can grow, cultivate, and produce at any time. I love that this ministry affords all who wish to participate the opportunity to love on, and touch lives in the most basic of ways, “providing food assistance.
For the past two years, the participants in the “Synergy Basketball” program has collected and donated food items for the pantry. The group has agreed to support the ministry again this year. Thank you and God bless each of you for your generosity.
Now to our church family, you are an important component to the success of this ministry. By attending the concert and bringing some canned and dry food items, you are critical to the ministry being able to provide assistance to those families needing our help. We look forward to seeing each of you on October 6 to fellowship for a great cause! And remember, this is a great opportunity for you to invite your neighbors, family, and friends to a “family friendly” free event. May God bless all you do for His namesake!
