Living Missionally

Missional living is defined as “joining God and giving ourselves away.” Here at FBC we are committed to reaching out to our community, our nation and the world as ambassadors of Jesus Christ, sharing not only the gospel message but demonstrating his heart of compasssion through tangible acts of service.

Gone Serving
April 25, 2015 | 8am-2pm

Along with 11 other Elk Grove churches, we are participating in a day to serve our city. We have chosen to be responsible for 4 projects. The four projects are:

1) Elk Grove Food Bank/Clothes Closet: reorganize 5 large clothes containers
2) H.A.R.T.: painting the interior of one of their transition homes for the homeless
3) Chicks in Crisis: remove weeds, cleanup yard, and plant flowers at their Ranch Home for at risk foster children
4) Cosumnes Community Service District: install bark and clean playground equipment at Van Doren Park.

We need a total of 226 volunteers to accomplish these 4 projects. For more details and to register, click here! All of the projects need specific tools, so be sure to sign up the tools you can bring with you.

Compassion in Action
Compassion in Action is a ministry where you get to touch a family in our church going through a crisis. Compassion in Action organizes a few meals just when people need to know they are not alone. What could be more rewarding than being the hands and feet of Jesus?! Hearts are warmed, tummies are fed and Jesus is seen when people reach out in this way. So if just once a month you could buy a meal, cook a meal, or help call people on the phone, this is a ministry for you!

Let your faith be put to action and your joy will abound.
