FBC Elders

sbeckner Steve Beckner - Steve is a sixth grade teacher working in the Elk Grove Unified School District. He has been a part of our church for 37 years, and his wife, Kristen, has been with our church for 40 years. Their hope, as a family, for our church is that our body of believers at FBC would be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and live in obedience to Deuteronomy 6:5 which says, "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." They pray our devotion to God causes each of us to live our lives to further the kingdom of God, whatever it takes.

Darin Boyd - Darin, his wife Afton, and their two children Aston and Alex have been with our church for 39 years. Darin is a business manager who enjoys baseball, golf, and sports ministry. He hopes that the FBC Campus and family can serve our entire congregation and the community, bringing us all toward the likeness of Christ.

Currently, Darin is a member of our Property Committee.

John Cargile (Elder Chair) - John is the elder chair serving our church. He and his wife, Debbie, and two sons Jeremy and Benjamin have been part of our church body since 1993. He is a business owner in our community and his vision for our church is to see every believer at FBC using their spiritual gifts to exalt the Lord, edify the Body and evangelize the world.

Bob Crump (Elder Vice-Chair) - Bob and Lynette Crump have been part of FBC for 25 years. They have three children (Drake, Dalton, and Denae) and have recently added to their family through Drake’s marriage to new daughter-in-law Sylvia. Bob’s hope for our church is that we will prayerfully seek God's will in the stewardship of the resources and gifts He has given us, that we may passionately serve our community, our country, and our world, and that it be evident we do these things as living evidence of the love of Jesus.

Currently, Bob is a member of our HR Committee.

Mario Fox - Mario, his wife Tricia, and their children Kailani and Kielan have been involved with our church for almost 14 years. He enjoys coaching and playing basketball, reading, and camping. He hopes that we as a body of believers continue to dedicate/re-dedicate our hearts and lives to God, and honor him through genuine worship, through serving others, through giving and through prayer.

Rob Lopez – Rob Lopez has been attending FBC for the past 32 years. Rob has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 28 years. They have four children; two are adults and the younger two boys are still at home. He is a skilled plumber and loves sports. Working with children of all ages has been a big part of Rob’s life. Rob and his wife have been fos­ter parents to many children over the years and also served in FBC’s Youth Ministries for 19 years. Now Rob is teaching third and fourth graders in Chil­dren’s Ministries.

Bill Maxon - The Maxon family, including our Executive Pastor Bill, his wife Dawn, and two sons Devin and Chad has been part of our church for almost ten years. Dawn works as an English teacher at Franklin High School, Devin is employed by NASCAR, and Chad is working for a local cable company. Bill loves to lead others in worship of God and desires to see FBC become a people so connected to the Spirit of God through Christ that we don’t just survive, but that we thrive in our faith, making a joyful contribution of change to Elk Grove and to the world.

Mike Otto (Elder Secretary) - Mike, his wife Vicki, and three children (Jessica Charney, Jared and Jillian Otto) have been with our church since 1989. Mike is the owner of Clinical Health Appraisals. He finds enjoyment in tennis and golf and simply through being with his family. One hope he has for FBC is that we would continue to grow in Christian maturity and love for God and His creations.

Karl Uebelhoer - Karl and his wife Vanderlene have been a part of the FBC family for five years along with their children Thomas, William, Gabriella and Nathan. Karl works as a sales manager. His hope is that FBC would be known as a place where the Gospel of Christ is proclaimed first and foremost, that care for the poor and the "least of these" around us and throughout the world would take precedence over our own cares and that we as the Body would be one with Christ Jesus as He is one with His Father in heaven.

Currently, Karl is a member of our Finance Committee.

Chris Wagner - Chris Wagner and his wife, Young, have been attending FBC for 7 years and have been members almost 4 years. Chris and Young have been married 17 years. They have three children, Bella, Noah, and Abby. Chris works at Intel as a team leader and has worked there for the past 18 years. He also spends time in the community coaching his kid’s basketball and soccer teams.
